Executive FM is led by Grant Sommerfeld, who brings 20 years of experience as a Chief Facilities Management Officer, including nine years as a post-secondary Associate Vice President of Facilities Management and three years as a consultant and advisor. He holds an MBA and three professional certifications in facilities management (CFM, CEFP, and FRICS), as well as one in management consulting (CMC).
We work exclusively with universities, colleges, and polytechnics to address the underlying organizational behaviour and psychological factors that drive FM. With that knowledge, we work with FM teams to optimize roles, workflows, and priorities, ensuring clear lines of authority, responsibility, and accountability. Together, we will develop work processes that flow smoothly, guided by a clear strategy and operational plans that deliver results.
Grant Sommerfeld is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the current President of the IFMA FM Consultants Council. He is an active contributor on LinkedIn and an author published in the IFMA Facilities Management Journal. Executive FM has achieved Regulated by RICS status, is a Corporate Member with CAUBO, and an official APPA Business Partner.
