Over my 17+ years leading FM in post-secondary institutions, I’ve seen firsthand how well-run facilities shape the student experience, drive faculty success, and support institutional goals. FM isn’t just about budgets and buildings—it’s about enabling learning, research, and community engagement through smart, strategic decision-making. That’s why I started Executive FM Consulting—to help institutions turn FM from a behind-the-scenes function into a visible, valued strategic asset.

After nearly two decades in leadership roles, I saw too many FM teams caught in an endless cycle of reactive firefighting, shrinking budgets, and frustrated stakeholders—without the time or bandwidth to drive real improvement. Experienced and Credentialed FM Professional and Consultant

Since 2023, I’ve been supporting senior post-secondary leaders in understanding and elevating the organizational effectiveness of their FM operations. FM is an often overlooked department, and increasing its organizational effectiveness can significantly benefit the institution and lower longer-term operating costs. Performance consulting in facilities management necessitates a profound understanding of FM, organizational effectiveness, and the consulting process. Implementing meaningful change in colleges, universities, and polytechnics also calls for firsthand experience in the post-secondary sector.

With 17 years of experience as a Chief Facilities Officer, I have effectively led teams of up to 750 members, managed budgets totalling $41.5 million, and supervised $350 million in capital projects. Of those 17 years, I dedicated nine to serving as an Associate Vice President of Facilities Management in the post-secondary sector.

My experience and singular focus on universities, colleges, and polytechnics enable me to provide customized solutions for the post-secondary environment that align with institutional objectives and enhance student success metrics. I work closely with internal teams that often have the necessary expertise but not the time to focus on longer-term organizational improvements. Leveraging specialized knowledge and external insights can significantly boost results and improve delivery speed. I know this from first-hand experience leading my own large FM operations.

Along with an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan, I hold three professional certifications in facilities management (CFM, CEFP, FRICS) and one in management consulting (CMC). I've honed my executive leadership and strategy skills at Cornell, the London School of Economics, INSEAD, and HEC Paris.

I qualified as a Certified Management Consultant with a tie for the second-highest score in Canada and in 2023 I was made a Fellow by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors where I am recognized as a Chartered Facilities Management Professional (Surveyor). My firm is Regulated By RICS.

I currently serve as the Vice President of the International Facilities Management Association's (IFMA) FM Consultant's Council.
